ShowsNEW YORK, Feb. 5, 2008 (CBS/AP) Top designers are showing off their Fall 2008 collections at Fashion Week in New York. The shows have been jammed with not only the fashion-forward, but lots of A-list celebrities. Glamour magazine Executive Fashion Editor at Large Suze Yalof Schwartz has been taking it all in, and filling in Early Show viewers about the goings-on both on the runways and off. Describing it as "working opulence," Schwartz explained that the pieces take you from day to evening.
Dresses also continue to a big presence on the runways -- from day to evening styles. Designer Jill Stuart, known for her dresses, featured several, as did designer Peter Som, who had his own asymmetrical interpretation. STYLE TIPS: The day also had lots of big celebrities attending the shows. Schwartz thinks the writers' strike-related the lack of red carpet events has brought out even more celebs than usual. Among those spotted Monday were Tyra Banks, Hilary Swank, Vanessa Carleton, Mandy Moore, Piper Perabo, Fergie, Josh Stone, and Rihannah. Continued 1 |
