CBS Evening News broadcast with Katie Couric?

Visitors to CBSNews.com can watch the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric as it airs on the CBS Television Network. An "on-demand" version of the broadcast will be available after the initial simulcast. Both are free, thanks to advertiser support.

Who can watch it?
Anyone in the United States with a broadband connection can view it. The CBS Evening News simulcast is currently not available outside the U.S. However, as has been the case for many years, individual CBS Evening News stories are available for viewing worldwide.

What software do I need?
Windows Media player version 9 or above to best experience the simulcast and on-demand versions of the CBS Evening News. If you have a PC and are experiencing difficulties, click here to run Windows Update to obtain the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Windows Media player and try again. If you have Internet Explorer 6 or above with Windows Media 9 or above and continue to experience problems, be sure your broadband connection is capable of sustaining a transfer rate of 500 kbps. The simulcast and on-demand versions of the Evening News will work on Firefox with Windows Media 9 or above for PC, and on Mac with Firefox or Safari and Windows Media 9, but the experience will not be as robust.

When can I watch it?
You can you begin watching the simulcast or on-demand playback at the same time that your local CBS station begins to air the CBS Evening News.

How can I watch it?
To view the free simulcast, you'll need to be a registered member of our site. If you subscribe to any CBSNews.com e-mail products or have a CBS Sports login, you're already set... just log in. If not, the first time you watch the simulcast, we'll ask you to create one. It will only take a few moments.

Will I get flooded with spam if I register?
We will never sell or let others use our e-mail list. And unless you sign up for other products like news alerts or news summaries, all you will get in e-mail is the occasional announcement of a major new product we think you'll be interested in.
